Vessel owners whose registration expires in 2018 or later will be provided two registration decals for display on both sides of their vessel as shown below.
NCWRC will phase in the two decal approach over the next few years. If your vessel has one decal and the expiration date is prior to 2018, you are NOT required to display a second decal.
Why is this change necessary? Currently vessel registration numbers are required on both the starboard and port side bow of a vessel. The one decal was required on the starboard side bow. Adding a decal to the port side bow will provide law enforcement officers the opportunity to visually determine registration compliance from either side of the vessel.
