Foothills Public Shooting Complex

The Foothills Public Shooting Complex is a partnership between the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and Cleveland County.  To help cover the costs associated with operating the range, Cleveland County collects a fee of $10 for a daily pass. The range is open to the general public, shooting sports teams and law enforcement for practice, training and recreational use.

It is universally accessible.

Operating Hours:  
Summer Operating Hours:
March 1 – October 31 
Wednesday through Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
Sundays: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Winter Operating Hours:
November 1 – February 28 
Wednesday through Saturday: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Sundays: 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Closed Mondays and Tuesdays

Amenities Include:  

  • 250 yard rifle range (stands at 100, 150, 200 and 250 yards)
  • 50 yard pistol/rifle range
  • 20 yard pistol range
  • 50 yard steel target range
  • Two skeet/trap/pistol combo range
  • Practice archery and 3-D archery course
  • Family pavilion with restrooms, grills and covered seating
