Through its Permit Hunting Opportunities Program, the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission provides a managed hunting opportunity for tundra swan. North Carolina is one of the few states where hunting this species is allowed. With a limited number of permits issued annually, the Commission is able to monitor the effects of hunter harvest on the overall population size and growth. This site provides information about the tundra swan permit program and available opportunities.
