CLYDE, N.C. (Dec. 30, 2015) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is holding a public hearing on Jan.12 to take comments on adopting into its rules a no-vessel-entry swimming area at the Pines Recreation Area Swim Beach on Lake Glenville in Jackson County.
The hearing, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held at Haywood Community College, located at 185 Freelander Drive in Clyde.
Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC sent a formal application to the Wildlife Commission requesting the no-vessel-entry swimming area at the Pines Recreation Area Swim Beach to ensure the safety of swimmers and boaters at the new swim beach. Comments also may be submitted until Jan. 25 to regulations@ncwildlife.org or to1701 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1701.
This no-vessel entry swimming area proposal is one of 37 proposed changes to the state’s wildlife management, game lands and fishing regulations for the 2016-17 seasons that the Commission will be taking comments on at the meeting.
