RALEIGH, N.C. (Nov. 21, 2013) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will host two free, family-oriented workshops on making soft plastic lures in December at the Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education in Raleigh.
The first workshop is scheduled for Dec. 3 from 2-4 p.m. but only a few seats remain on a first-come, first-served basis. The second workshop will be held Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. until noon. Both workshops are for participants 8 years old and older, accompanied by an adult.
The workshops cover the fundamentals of creating artificial worms, minnows, lizards, crayfish and other soft plastic baits. Participants will create multiple lures to take home.
“These plastic lures are great for fishing, but you can also customize them to create special holiday-colored lures to add a special touch to your holiday decorating,” said Beth Gunn, an education program coordinator with the Commission.

The Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education is located on NCSU Centennial Campus at 1751 Varsity Drive.
