YANCEYVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 30, 2018) —The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has completed construction on a new public archery range at the R. Wayne Bailey-Caswell Shooting Range. The new archery range, located at 3670 N.C. 86 South in Yanceyville, will open to the public on Aug. 30.

Now that construction is complete, the site features a roaming course with 10 separate 3D targets and two ADA-accessible sighting lanes with bag and 3D targets, with an ADA-accessible parking lot. The project was funded using Pittman-Robertson funds and license sales receipts.

“This new archery range is free for the public to use,” said Myers Mast, a landscape architect with the Commission. “It provides a great opportunity for people to practice honing their archery skills in a realistic, wooded environment.”

The range is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The range will be closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, state holidays and during special permit hunts.
