While we plan to begin sampling on the Tar River next week, we were advised that that a few hickories were being caught and not many American Shad yet in the Rocky Mount to Tarboro area. We did get quite a bit of rain Thursday night which could draw more American Shad upstream by next week, yet the river is beginning to rise quickly with the recent rainfall.
Tar River Fisheries Reports for the 2015 season will begin next week.
