Wildlife Commission Temporarily Closes Boating and Public Fishing Areas

UPDATE - FEB. 9, 2016. Burch Station in Surry County, Roaring River and Ferguson in Wilkes County are reopened.

RALEIGH, N.C. (Feb. 5, 2016) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has closed the following boating and fishing access areas in northwestern North Carolina due to damages sustained from severe flash flooding earlier this week.  

  •   Yadkin Shore in Yadkin County
Commission staff has begun work to repair the damage and will reopen the areas upon completion.
