On December 17, 2020, N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission Law Enforcement Officer Justin St. Onge participated in the search and rescue of a lost hunter in the Uwharrie National Forest in Montgomery County, N.C.
Even the most experienced hunters can get turned around in the woods, and it takes the effort of many to conduct a successful mission. We are grateful this story had a happy ending thanks to a well-prepared hunter, his son’s diligence and St. Onge’s immediate response to a dire situation.
Please enjoy this video blog post, featuring Officer Justin St. Onge, Sergeant Darby Enoch, the lost hunter, Brian Goggins, and his son, Matt Harding.
