What is WISe?
Wildlife Inmate Services or WISe is a North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) inmate rehabilitation program. It is located at the Dan River Prison Work Farm in Yanceyville, NC. NCWRC has partnered with the NC Department of Public Safety, Division of Adult Correction to provide a course in horticulture and train inmates to build high quality docks, piers, kiosks, metal signs, and other products before they have completed their sentences.
The plans and wood products are available for purchase by municipalities, public universities, public k-12 schools, non-profits, or any state/federal agency. Individuals and private entities may not purchase products at this time.
