NEW BERN, N.C. (Dec. 30, 2015) —The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is holding a public hearing on Jan. 20 to take comments on adopting into its rules a no-wake zone requested on Palmetto Drive Canal in Cedar Point, in Carteret County.
The hearing, which begins at 7 p.m., will be held in Orringer Auditorium at Craven Community College, which is located at 800 College Court in New Bern.
The Town of Cedar Point sent a formal application to the Wildlife Commission to establish a no-wake zone on Palmetto Drive Canal in Cedar Point. The Town advertised and held a public hearing, and submitted a resolution requesting the Commission to promulgate rulemaking. The proposal, if approved, will give Wildlife Commission enforcement officers authority to enforce these no-wake zones.
Comments also may be submitted until Jan. 25 to regulations@ncwildlife.org or to 1701 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1701.
This no-wake zone proposal is one of 37 proposed changes to the state’s wildlife management, game lands and fishing regulations for the 2016-17 seasons that the Commission will be taking comments on at the meeting.
