Wildlife Commission Presents Public Meeting on Proposed Shooting Range in McDowell County

MARION, N.C. (Jan. 23, 2018) —  The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold an informational meeting at 6 p.m. on Feb. 6 to discuss the construction of a shooting range near Ashworth Road in McDowell County. The meeting will be held at McDowell Technical Community College at 54 College Dr. in Marion.

The Commission will hear public comments on the proposed project, which would include a rifle range and a pistol range, after an overview presentation and sound study discussion. Following the meeting, Commission staff will present the project, along with public comments, to the Wildlife Commissioners for their consideration at a future business meeting.
