RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 29, 2018) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a public hearing on Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. to receive comments concerning a proposal for a no-wake zone near the Sunset Beach boating access area. The hearing will be held at the Town Hall Council Chambers at 700 Sunset Blvd. North in Sunset Beach.

The proposed no-wake zone is intended to mitigate hazards to boater safety in the vicinity of the boating access area and bridge. It will extend shore to shore from 150 yards east of the Sunset Beach bridge to 50 yards west of the bridge.

All interested citizens are encouraged to attend. If you have any questions, please contact Betsy Haywood, the Commission’s No-Wake Zone Coordinator, at (919) 707-0013 or at betsy.haywood@ncwildlife.org.
