RALEIGH, N.C. (Aug. 26, 2015) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is conducting two free, introductory deer seminars in September at its Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education Center in Raleigh.
The first seminar, “Deer Hunting 101,” will be held on Sept. 17 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and will cover topics to help novice hunters improve their hunting abilities. Topics include:
The second seminar, “Deer Processing, From Field to Freezer,” will be held on Sept. 24 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Topics covered will include field dressing, processing techniques and taxidermy. Participants also will have a taste-testing to learn the different ways to cook and serve venison.
While both seminars are free, space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education is located on the first floor of the Wildlife Commission’s headquarters at 1751 Varsity Drive on N.C. State University’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh.
