Prescribed Burn Conducted Today on Roanoke River, Sandhills Game Lands
Prescribed fire can prevent wildfire and benefits wildlife.

RALEIGH, N.C. (Jan. 21, 2016) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission is conducting two prescribed burns today on the following game lands:

WHERE:  Two locations:

Roanoke River Game Land – 24 acres in Martin County. GPS coordinates: 35*54.0 77*6.4

Sandhills Game Land - 62 acres in Richmond County. GPS coordinates: 35*00.537 79*34.427

WHAT:  Prescribed burn to reduce hazards and to stimulate growth of native vegetation to benefit wildlife.
