RALEIGH, N.C. (June 27, 2018) — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission recently adopted a rule that establishes a no-wake zone at Sunset Beach in Brunswick County. The new no-wake zone, which goes into effect on July 1, extends along a 200-yard portion of the Intracoastal Waterway from west of the Sunset Beach Boating Access Area to east of the Sunset Boulevard bridge. The Sunset Beach no-wake zone was approved by the Commission to mitigate safety hazards at the busy boating access area and bridge in the narrow, shallow portion of the Intracoastal Waterway.
