PITTSBORO, N.C. (Sept. 29, 2015) – The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission, along with the Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service, is conducting the second in a series of free wildlife workshops for Piedmont-area landowners.
“Managing Your Land for Nongame Wildlife” will be held on Oct. 28 from 7 to 9 p.m., in the North Carolina Extension Service Agriculture Building’s auditorium, located at 65 East Chatham Street in Pittsboro.
Staff with the Commission’s Wildlife Diversity Program will present tips and information on how landowners can manage their lands for nongame wildlife — animals that are not hunted or fished — focusing on bats, songbirds, reptiles and amphibians.
The third workshop on Nov. 16, will focus on addressing nuisance wildlife issues and wildlife damage control. It will also be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Chatham County Agriculture Building. The final workshop in the series is an all-day workshop at the Silk Hope Farm Heritage Center and is scheduled for Jan. 9, 2016. More information about these workshops will be available on the Commission’s website and the Extension Service’s website closer to the dates of the workshops.
