ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (Sept. 23, 2015) – The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission reopened a dove field on the Bladen Lakes State Forest Game Land today.
The dove field, which had been closed since Sept. 9 due to illegal baiting, is located off Sweet Home Church Road in Bladen County. GPS coordinates are N 34.69902, W 78.57829. Directions are: From Hwy. 242, turn onto Sweet Home Church Road and go approximately 1.2 miles. Turn left onto Bladen Lakes State Forest and drive .25 mile. Turn left and go another .25 mile to the dove field location.
Anyone who has any knowledge about the illegal baiting, which occurred prior to the dove season opening, is asked to contact the Commission’s Enforcement Division at 800-662-7137. Callers can remain anonymous.
